Day 21 of the burpee challenge
And I've made it thus far. Today I didn't stop during the reps but I must admit some days are harder than others. Although I always feel out of breath at the end of my reps the most painful aspect of the burpees is the tightness in my thighs from relentlessly squatting and jumping. I'm guessing it's lactic acid build up.

Burpee challenge
Today is the first day of the burpee challenge! Conskeptical, EP, PMY as well as myself are taking it on. One burpee today, adding one burpee on each subsequent day till we reach 100. Watch this space!

I love burpees
Yup. I love 'em. And Phil (thanks PMY) knows it which is why he sent me this link:-
This is a fun site documenting some people's obsession/commitment to doing one burpee on day one, two burpees on day two and so on till achieving one hundred!
I enjoy doing a slow burpee with a press up half way through and instead of leaping into the air I bring my hands above my head and do some dynamic tension low blocks on the way down. If I do venture into the jumping style I can't do more than 15 correctly.
Maybe it's time for a 100 day burpee challenge...anyone?

Mucking about in the garden
So I decided to do a little in-garden entertainment today instead of a run. Warm up was 5 minutes skipping with 12 burpees then some light hand techniques.
I took this photo through vanity I guess. Sad I know but I wanted to see how it looked (I can't lie!)-and at least I get to examine my round kick a little closer. It seems ok I think- back foot turning out but the kicking foot isn't as horizontal as I'd like: maybe I could roll that hip over a little more. I suppose it depends on the target. If I was aiming for side of jaw I'd be happy enough with that. Bal dung in Korean- the top of the foot.
Interestingly Korean round kick (dollyo chagi) tends to encourage a lean back further with the upper body in order to reach for the higher targets, but I much prefer to stay more upright with my round kick. I feel it's more stable and I can bring my hands into play. Certainly Shorinji Kempo mawashi geri is more upright discouraging the lean.
