If you have an interest in the relationship of martial arts to meditation, I can recommend an article from this month's Empirical Magazine that shed some light on it. There are some highlights of it up on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=4IMUFPTr43I) but the full text was really informative. It went into the relationship of Islam to Muhammad Ali's fighting, monks' practice of kung fu and some other interesting things.
